Biography
My present ‘position’/title is a ‘scientist emeritus’ at the Pacific Biological Station where I worked from 1977-2005. My work there focussed on biology and ecology of small pelagic fish, mainly herring and eulachon.
In the last 5 years I have continued to do various tasks including: two years as a professor at Pukyong National University in Busan Korea; writing and reviewing reports and reviewing proposals as a member of the Science Panel for the Exxon Valdes Oil Spill Trustee Council (Anchorage, Alaska); preparing several reports on herring as part of the DFO CSAS series; co-authoring draft report for COSEWIC on the status of eulachon; serve on graduate student committees for UBC and the U. Alaska (Fairbanks) and external examiner for PhD student (U. Bergen, Norway).
